They do not use an “out of the box” approach. We tailor our coaching to you. Each client receives an individualized written action plan that will work individually for you.
SHVA employs a proprietary approach to career coaching. We offer support, advice, tools, and resources to enable you to land a new position in an expedited manner. Most of our clients are hired or promoted in a unique position, 60-70% quicker when compared to the average search time of 5-6 months. We work as hard as you do to get you the job you want!
What is a Career Coach? Why do I need one?
Career coaching is designed to enhance your job performance and job satisfaction. We also work to provide you with the tools and focus you need to overcome the fear and doubt which stop many career professionals from gaining traction on career progression. Our objective is simple: Eradicate the fog of fear and uncertainty in reaching your professional goals.
A career coach helps you determine your skills, interests and economic needs and then establish their professional goals and objectives to help you meet those goals.
We do this through a series of assessments and coaching sessions. These sessions target your immediate needs and motivate you to reach the next level!
If you want to make a life-changing career move or change jobs, a coach can assist you in designing a strategic plan to achieve your career goal. The techniques we employ have helped hundreds, and we are confident they will help you too!
Résumé Services
As part of your coaching engagement, SHVA Leadership Coaches will work with you to develop a résumé and cover letter. No need to pay for that seperate. However, we also offer standalone résumé services too!

Are Career Coaches the same as Career Counselors?
SHVA Leadership Advisers are not career counselors. Career coaching and career counseling are not the same.
Through a series of tools, exercises, and assessments, we identify your core values, transferable skills, areas of expertise, interests, and economic needs. We use the results to help you in creating a plan to meet your needs and desires. Career coaching utilizes a results-oriented action plan for reaching your professional objectives.
However, the non‐judgmental perspective, privacy, and confidentiality of the coaching session provides a safe place for you to reflect on feedback and work on improving the specific areas you desire.
Career e-Coaching vs. Face to Face
We specialize in e-coaching! Studies show that e-coaching is just as effective as face-to-face coaching.
One of the main advantages of providing coaching in alternative formats such as telephone, Zoom®, Skype®, or e‐mail is we can pass the savings on to you!
You save travel expenses and time off work by participating in e-coaching sessions. However, you always have the option for a more expensive face-to-face meeting.

The study also indicated that career coaching had positive effects on:
- organizational outcomes overall by 36%
- specific skill-based issues by 28%
- affective outcomes by 51%
- individual-level results by 124%
How Many Career Coaching Sessions Are Required?
We do not force you into a 3 or 6-month commitment. The same study discussed earlier showed that there was no significant outcome difference by increasing the number of coaching sessions or lengthening out the coaching engagement. Also, there is not a “plateauing” of the impact of coaching (lengthening the coaching engagement did not improve the overall effectiveness of the coaching). Short‐term coaching has a beneficial effect. Again, we can pass the savings (hundreds or even thousands of dollars) on to you through shorter, more cost-effective coaching engagements.
However, depending on the severity or complexity of your coaching development issues, your coach may recommend extending your coaching engagement. Some employee development issues may require a higher number of sessions and longer-term coaching engagements than others.

How the SHVA Career Coaching Process Works:
Select your preferred coaching engagement from the selections below.
Complete the questionnaire(s), coaching agreements, and upload required documents. Schedule a time to conduct a phone or Zoom© consultation to gather all relevant information, discuss your goals, needs, and desires with your Coach.
After your first session, you will schedule a follow-up call or Zoom© meeting (at least one-week after your first appointment) to review your progress, resolve any concerns, receive tips, coaching, or training. Typically, this step repeats each week based on your desires, needs and selected coaching engagement.

For Virtual meetings, we have no limitations. We will work with you anywhere in the world via video conferencing or telephone.
For In-Person meetings, our default travel area is the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex. However, we are available for coaching anywhere in the world.
