Life Coaching

Life coaching assists you in moving from stagnation to growth. At SHVA Leadership Advisers, we utilize life coaching to strengthen our focus, Executive and Career coaching. Our life coaching determines the factors in your personal life which hold you back from full work performance. Basically, we practice the “Whole Person” concept of coaching.

Studies found that life coaching provided a holistic approach to improving generic yet relevant professional skills. Consequently, these skills include “communicative and conflict solving skills, assertiveness, confidence or increased awareness of self and professional issues,” which enhanced teamwork, cooperation, and organizational support. Additionally, this study showed that, at the individual level, frequent participation in life coaching encourages and structures reflective thinking. Thus, helping you define your professional role and the way you approach your work.

What is a Life Coach?

The life coach does not establish your goals; you do. SHVA coaches help shine a light on strengths that can help you achieve your goals. Life coaching, mentoring, executive, team, career, and peer coaching all work together to help you flourish.

SHVA leadership coaches specialize in Executive and Career coaching. However, your personal life directly impacts your professional life. When Executive and Career coaching is used with life coaching, the results are out of this world! Life Coaching helps you see through a new lens!

Additional Services

Additionally, we offer a range of Executive Coaching and Career Coaching packages. Outside of traditional coaching packages, we also provide standalone Résumé Services and Leadership Development packages for mid-level and upper-level career professionals and organizations.

How does Life Coaching Help My Profession?

In addition to the benefits already discussed, life coaching provides many others. Benefits compound when combined with Career coaching. Traditionally, you are not supposed to bring your home problems to work. However, this thinking is ludicrous, as it is impossible to compartmentalize life-altering home events, such as a loved one’s death, or a vehicle accident. Therefore, our life coaching works to tear down the barriers and limitations you have and draw out and release your full potential in all aspects of your life.  Below are some additional benefits of life coaching:

  • Significantly reduces procrastination by 90%.
  • Improves and increases the odds of goal attainment by 95%.
  • Increases personal satisfaction with career and life choices by 94% (when combined with Transformational Leadership, this increased to 97%).

How else Does Life Coaching Benefit Me?

Lowered Absence Rates

Often, people reach their own “sell-by” date on their job and need a change. When we feel stuck in a position, we lose motivation and actively find reasons to not be at work. Life coaching helps you look at whether you want to continue doing your current job and, if not, how to change the situation.

Changed Mindset

After doing the same things for a while, we fall into “auto-pilot” mode at work and home. Life coaching alters your mind‐set through self-reflection and changes your view of your job and helps you fall back in love with your work. Other times it involves enabling you to be more assertive.

More Significant Innovation and Creativity  –

For too long, the focus was placed on upper-management reliance. We often must seek “higher-level” approvals before we act. Boredom can also set in when you are tenured. Life coaching helps you look beyond holidays and vacations and open your mind to the truth that you can do anything.

Reduced Work Stress

Large portions of stress come from trauma and pain. While counseling focuses on “dealing with” and “accepting” the past, life coaching faces the future. In life, we tend to be reactive and feel as though we are “staying afloat” or “treading water.” Life coaching is about swimming upstream instead of maintaining the status quo. Progression lowers stress.

Overcome Skepticism

Life’s ills bring us down. Sometimes, we believe that “this is all there is,” and I must “accept my reality.” It is easy to fear the unknown and think that there is “no way out.” However, life coaching helps you to look for positives in negative experiences and focus on improvements that bring change.

Improved Confidence

Getting beat down in life and work takes its toll on our confidence. Applying for jobs we never get, watching others flourish with little effort while we flounder with great effort, wears down our desire to improve. Life coaching does not tell you what to do to fix your situation; it draws it out of you. Life coaching allows you to assess what you want out of life and gives you the confidence to act.

Life e-Coaching vs. Face to Face

We specialize in e-coaching! Studies show that e-coaching is just as effective as face-to-face coaching.

One of the main advantages of providing coaching in alternative formats such as telephone, Zoom®, Skype®, or e‐mail is we can pass the savings on to you!

You save travel expenses and time off work by participating in e-coaching sessions. However, you always have the option of a more expensive face-to-face meeting.

How the SHVA Life Coaching Process Works:

Select your preferred coaching engagement from the selections below.

Complete the questionnaire(s), coaching agreements, and upload required documents. Schedule a time to conduct a phone or Zoom© consultation to gather all relevant information, discuss your goals, needs, and desires with your Coach.

After your first session, you will schedule a follow-up call or Zoom© meeting (at least one-week after your first appointment) to review your progress, resolve any concerns, receive tips, coaching, or training. Typically, this step repeats each week based on your desires, needs and selected coaching engagement.

SHVA Leadership Advisers bring the coaching and leadership development to you!

For Virtual meetings, we have no limitations. We will work with you anywhere in the world via video conferencing or telephone.

Free Life Coaching Consultation – Virtual

For those who are not sure that a full commitment is for them, we recommend you attend a Life Coaching Consultation. There is no cost and no obligation!

This session is a complimentary time for you to meet Gary and discuss your needs.

Because all coaches are not the same, we strive to find the coach that will best suit your needs. If during this session, we agree that another coach or service may better serve you, we will provide you the information we have (we do not recommend specific coaches, doctors, or consultants. Instead we recommend certain types and categories that we know may be better suited to your needs).

There is no cost or obligation associated with this session. We want to help you reach your goals. We will work with you to make it happen, even if it is with another coach or consultant.
